Manual Stackers
Operation: Uses a hydraulic foot pump or hand lever to raise loads physically; movement is entirely human-powered.
Capacity & Lift: Typically handles 500kg to 1500kg with lift heights up to 3000mm (3 metres).
Best For: Low-budget operations or light usage (lifting items once or twice a day).
Pros & Cons: Inexpensive and low-maintenance, but requires significant physical effort for high lifts.
Electric Stackers
Operation: Powered by rechargeable batteries (often 12V or new energy batteries). Semi-electric models feature a power lift with manual push/pull travel, while fully electric models feature both power-driven lift and drive motors.
Capacity & Lift: Handles loads up to 1500kg–3000kg with lift heights commonly reaching 3000mm or more.
Best For: Busy warehouses, higher racking, and tight spaces requiring repetitive lifting.
Pros & Cons: Fast, ergonomic, and reduces workplace injury risks, but comes at a higher initial cost and requires battery charging.
Key Factors to Consider
Pallet Type: Standard stackers work with open-bottom pallets, whereas closed-bottom (perimeter) pallets require straddle leg stackers with legs positioned outside the forks for stability.
Aisle Space: Stackers are narrower and more maneuverable than traditional forklifts, making them ideal for narrow warehouse aisles.
